Welcome to the cat dad show. This will be a soulful paws minute episode. We're going to do some affirmations here. My name is Scott Colby. You know, the first month after losing a beloved pet can be incredibly difficult and overwhelming, especially if you're new to pet loss grief. Maybe you've never experienced it before.

I remember when my first cat, Nomar, died, I had no idea the intensity of that grief. I remember my sister bought me a book specifically for cat loss grief and that helped quite a bit. I do have a guide. 21 tips to help you in your first month of Pat loss grief. If you would like a copy of that, it's completely free.

Just find me on Instagram. My handle is Scott Colby, S C O T T C O L B Y. Just send me a direct message, and I'll be happy to send that, those tips for you. But during that first month, it's a time filled with deep emotions, and it's important to give yourself grace as you navigate this grief. Again, it may be completely brand new to you.

You don't know what feelings are going to arise. So today, we offer gentle affirmations to provide comfort and remind you to be kind to yourself during this early stage of your journey. We're going to do five affirmations. As I say them, feel free to Repeat them after me either silently or out loud.

Let's begin. I allow myself to grieve in my own way and at my own pace, knowing that there's no right or wrong way to mourn.

It's okay to feel a range of emotions, from sadness and anger to moments of peace. Each one is part of the healing process.

I give myself permission to rest and take care of my needs as I navigate this difficult time.

I honor the love and memories I shared with my pet, holding them close to my heart as I grieve.

I am gentle with myself, knowing that healing takes time and that it's okay to seek support when needed.

Thank you for joining me in these affirmations. Remember the first month of pet loss grief is a time to be kind to yourself and to allow your emotions to flow naturally. Take each day as it comes and know that it's okay to give yourself the time and space you need to heal. Take care and be gentle with yourself.
